''How long does it take to repair a cylinder?'' 8-10 working days. If it is finished sooner, we will contact you.

''How much does it cost?''
There is a range of prices ranging from R2800 to R3800 depending on the cc’s, please refer to pricelist.

''How do I get it to you?''
By courier to our physical address is the best option. The shipping cost is for your own account and is not included in our prices.

''Why replate and not resleeve?''
Original heat transfer properties are maintained as designed so that you can run the design piston clearances. The port timing is not affected. The wear life is the same as the original, cast iron does not wear as well. Replating can be repeated when necessary.

''Do you charge more for repairs as well (welding, boring etc.)?''
 We charge for welding, CNC machine and stripping of any parts from cylinder.

''How do you fix it if its badly damaged or cracked?''
The old plating is stripped off, damaged areas are welded and machined, plating is reapplied and the cylinder is then honed to size.

''When can't you replate?''
If a cylinder has been resleeved or if it came with a sleeve as standard we do not generally replate it.

''What type of cylinders have you repaired?''
All motorcycle cylinders including grand prix bikes, motorcross bikes and road bikes , multi-cylinder bikes e.g. BMW K100, Suzuki SRAD standard and big bore conversions, Cosworth 2 litre 4 cylinder, Mercury Formula 1 powerboat sleeves and block, Porsche 3 litre turbo sleeves and many others too numerous to mention.

''What guarantee do you offer?''
We guarantee against defects in workmanship and materials, however please remember that you will always need to fix the problem that caused the engine damage in the first place. We can fix the cylinder but if the original problem isn't solved then you will be back to have the cylinder repaired - and it won't be free of charge !

''What is Alusil?''
Alusil is not a coating process, it is a treatment of the aluminium surface by either chemical etching or honing and lapping to expose silicon particles on the aluminum surface to act as a wear layer. Some of the following motors use Alusil style engine blocks: Honda VTR1000, Honda CBR1000, Honda CBR600, BMW X5 4.4l V8 and Toyota Run X 180i.
